A sensitive, imaginative
portrait does much more than display family members - it captures
the true spirit of a families feelings towards one another. A
professional photographer must create a certain mood on paper,
taking care of the smallest details - the placement of the hand,
the tilt of the head, color intensities and lighting patterns.
Each piece of the portrait must be carefully orchestrated to
display your families tight bond. And to help in the creation of
such a portrait, the planning of a session is vital to it's
success.
Portrait Session Clothing - Coordination of your families apparel has a major influence on the success of a beautiful family portrait. The selected clothing should be simple as to place the attention on the subject and not the clothing. Solids are always preferred to prints and patterns. Bold prints such as strips and plaids are very distracting in a photograph. Generally, formal clothing works well in the studio and casual clothing works best for environmental portraiture. Avoid wearing brightly colored socks or white running shoes.
Family Session Appointments - A phone call is all you need to begin your journey to a precious family portrait. You may either make an appointment for a family session over the phone or you can begin with a portrait planning consultation. We strongly recommend the portrait consultation and include this service at no charge. Clients that have been to the studio for the short planning session, always find it very valuable and are much more pleased with their session and resulting portraits. Our clients are much more at ease and often find new and exciting ideas in our portfolios that we can incorporate into your own family portraits. And to help make your session more convenient, we are available when you are. We understand that today's families are very busy, so we now offer sessions on weeknights and on weekends as well as during the weekdays. But be sure to call early as many premier times such as Saturday and Sunday afternoons are booked up well in advance.
The
Portrait Session -
Sessions
are usually photographed at the studio or in our Portrait Park,
but may be photographed at another pre-selected location. Most
family sessions take approximately 1 - 1,5 hours to complete. Sessions include a
variety of poses, sets and props to create that special family
portrait. Family session fees are only $119 for
immediate members up to 7 people. Larger family session fees are $139 and $169 respective. Contact the studio for more information

The
Final Product
- Our session previews take 5 - 7 days to develop, process and
assemble for
presentation. Previews are presented in a
gift album and may be taken out of the studio for up to two
weeks. Once the order is received, we complete your portrait by
taking care in hand cropping the negative, retouching your
portrait and sealing every print for added protection. As each
print is custom, it must pass our high standards before being
displayed as a complete, finished product. Smaller prints are
presented in a gold accented gift mount and are ready for
display. All of our wall portraits are retouched, sprayed with a
lacquer for extra protection and mounted on a sturdy masonite
backing to prevent the portrait from warping. Several different
Art Leather folios and albums as well as a large selection of
frames are also available to complete your family portrait.
